“I use digital methods and software to create this work. This flag floats in virtual space, exploring themes of power and freedom within this realm. Some voices have been silenced by external forces – once present, they were erased, their sound rendered invisible. What remains is the same symbol: 404. Yet, each voice has a unique sound, now absent. In the ancient Greek sense, the ‘square’ as a site for discourse and debate has long since shifted to the virtual digital space. It has transformed into a new kind of square, a new landscape, where the struggle for dialogue continues.” (Cao Shu)
