"Global Positions" (1999–2002) sprang from the idea at the end of the 90's to present as many different positions of young contemporary art as possible and to link up the representatives of these positions via a discussion platform on the internet. No limits whatsoever have been imposed. The only condition for participating artists was the media-specific nature of the artistic work.
Curators from all parts of the world who have drawn attention to themselves through their involvement with young art were invited to propose an artist for the "Global Positions" exhibition. The works were shown in the form of a double-page spread in the newspaper Der Standard.
