Standard Museum

The Standard Museum is a series of art contributions which appeared in the daily newspaper Der Standard – provided with instructions for use – in strip format from January – December 2004. Through folding up the side of each page with the contributions and putting the three pages together model-like rooms are created which form the joint exhibition space of the two Vienna art institutions (Academy of Fine Arts and University of Applied Art) in the print medium. Over the period of one year around 20 works appeared by students of the two academies.

"Room 1" of the Standard Museum is by the artist duo Clegg & Guttmann, who had the idea for the series. The artistic contributions were worked out with students in workshops led by Martin Guttmann at the two universities.

A museum in progress project in cooperation with the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and the University of Applied Art Vienna. Concept: museum in progress / Clegg & Guttmann.
