"I am interested in art and economics. My work is animated by the gift economics of Southern Africa. Play in my work alludes to the economy of the gift. I think the good aspects of cryptocurrency are similar to the work of the gift, its ability to return. Cryptocurrency is changing the narrow confines of the nation state. Cryptocurrency is capable of remixing flags like a DJ. I am an African cosmopolitan and like the idea of of nations in transit, under the influence of the gift - even art." (Samson Kambalu)
