One-Minute-Sculptures

Erwin Wurm (born 1954 in Bruck an der Mur, now living in Vienna) is a sculptor. However, his material is not stone, metal or wood but a broom, a pullover, a box and especially people who are meant to do something with the objects. This does not make his sculptures particularly permanent. To have a pullover pulled over you, to balance on a broom or to put a box over your head are not things which most people can keep up for long. Wurm therefore calls these unstable situations which he arranges "One-Minute-Sculptures".

Wurm has transferred some of his temporary sculptures into pictorial instructions for the "Functional Pictures" series. They are easy to carry out with the help of these everyday requisites. Try it!
