Machiavelli for Kids

Claudia Hart (born 1955 in New York, now living in New York) is a concept painter. In her series of pictures "Machiavelli for Kids" she has connected to cuddly rabbits from a children's book with a saying from Niccolò Machiavelli's "The Prince" (1517). – "If someone hates you it should only be weaklings without money." The calculating pragmatism of power politics (this Renaissance guide now enjoys great popularity among modern business executives) and the imagined innocent of childhood smash into each other in a full-frontal crash. At the same time the rhythmic succession of pictures is reminiscent of the rotating discs of slot machines. Is it perhaps possible to feel great happiness in cynicism?
