"Spaced Out?" by the Danish artist Jakob Kolding is the twelfth billboard exhibition in the course of the exhibition series "Worlds of Work" by museum in progress in cooperation with the Vienna Chamber of Labour. The exhibition was presented from September – November 2004 in front of the buildings of the Vienna Chamber of Labour (1040 Wien, Prinz Eugenstraße 20–22 and Plößlgasse 13). The work was also presented in the daily newspaper DER STANDARD and on INFOSCREENs in the Vienna subway-system.
Urban life and the design of urban space are themes in the works of the Danish artist Jakob Kolding. He develops a social topography of public space in precise collages which often also include text. Where luxury apartments are planned, the area is under camera surveillance, ball games and graffiti are forbidden and security guards keep youngsters away. Who does the city belong to?
