The manifesto "Progetto Arte" drawn up by Michelangelo Pistoletto for the Standard outlines the "Interpersonal responsibility of the artist to transform every other kind of human activity in communication with each other". In order to create these horizontal connecting lines between the heads of the people, "Progetto Arte" includes numerous disciplines: music, architecture, fine art, fashion, economics, humanities, sciences, religion.In the same breath Pistoletto extends his own artistic work across these different terrains. The point of departure for "Progetto Arte" is the theatre as a synaesthetic medium. Progetto Arte envisages a non -hierarchical concept of the theatre which gives the public a lot of freedom: a theatre without a beginning and without an end.
