Vienna Stripe

Vienna Stripe 03

From November 2000, as the third part of the project "Vienna Stripe", museum in progress presented two large-format pictures in the show cabinets on the façade of the Wein & Co bar next to the Secession in the centre of Vienna. The large-format pictures of the works of the artist duo Muntean & Rosenblum were on show there for approximately one year.

The large-format pictures using CALSI technology show two series of paintings by the artists: "Out of Sorts" (1999) und "Lonely Facts" (1998). The cohesive element in "Out of Sorts" is the motif of screaming and in "Lonely Facts" that of running. As in a strip cartoon or comic strip, the paintings have captions below them. The combination of picture and text evokes multi-faceted levels of meaning. The paintings, which now and then appear like snapshots, seem just as spontaneous as – underlined by their colourfulness – artificial.

CALSI large-format picture technology: BEKO; made possible by artpool.
