Large Scale Picture

"River" by Gerhard Richter, the third work in the "Large Scale Picture" exhibition series could be seen on the facade of the Kunsthalle Vienna from December 1995 until March 1996 in the format of 10m x 54m. With "River", the artist established a connection between the flow of traffic on Karlsplatz and the Wienfluss, a river running under the Kunsthalle. The project with Hans-Ulrich Obrist as curator, was realised in co-operation with the company, Beko, and the Austrian Federal Curator Markus Brüderlin (Ministry of Science, Research and Art).
