Statement by Luca Lo Pinto

When I was 18 I was a big fan of Alighiero Boetti, and the first time I heard about museum in progress was when I read about its project on airplanes with Boetti and Hans Ulrich Obrist. It was an epiphany on many levels, radically changing my perception of what an exhibition and an artwork are or could be. museum in progress is, without a doubt, my favourite museum. It’s a museum’s museum. An endless source of inspiration with projects that challenged, over the years, the apparatus of exhibition-making in a poetic, generous and truly democratic way, making art available to many. I’m honoured to have had a chance to collaborate with museum in progress – long live museum in progress!
