For the 27th "Safety Curtain" at the Wiener Staatsoper, the jury (Daniel Birnbaum, Bice Curiger and Hans-Ulrich Obrist) selected the artist Pipilotti Rist. Her work "Abdominal cavity flies over a dam" can be seen by the audience from 24 September 2024 until the end of June 2025 before the start of the performances, during the intermissions and at the end of the performances. As part of the project Pipilotti Rist created a short video, which can be seen in the digital museum in progress: www.mip.at/en/digital-mip/safety-curtain/rist.
The exhibition series “Safety Curtain” is a project of museum in progress in cooperation with the Vienna State Opera and the Bundestheater-Holding.
