Safety Curtain

Safety Curtain 2016/2017

For the nineteenth "Safety Curtain", the jury (Daniel Birnbaum and Hans-Ulrich Obrist) selected the internationally renowned American artist Tauba Auerbach. Her large-scale picture "A Flexible Fabric of Inflexible Parts III" was on display at the Vienna State Opera from 30 November 2016 until 30 June 2017.

For museum in progress Auerbach created an exclusive hanging sculpture, which refers to her Safety Curtain at the Vienna State Opera. The limited edition consists of two intertwined parts and comes with a hook and instructions for hanging it on the wall as well as with a stamped and numbered collector’s box, which is signed by the artist. The purchase of this limited edition will help to continue the exhibition series in the Vienna State Opera. Purchase details
