"Helen & Gordon" is a tribute to a famous photograph of Helen Frankenthaler by Gordon Parks, which was commissioned by Life magazine in the 1950ies.
The large-scale picture was on display at the Vienna State Opera from 30 September 2015 until 30 June 2016. On the occasion of the exhibition "Opera as the World. The quest for a total work of art" at the Centre Pompidou-Metz, museum in progress presented the large-scale image at the Opéra Théâtre de Metz in 2019.
The exhibition series "Safety Curtain" is a project of museum in progress in cooperation with the Vienna State Opera and the Bundestheater-Holding, made possible in 2015 thanks to the generous support of the Helen Frankenthaler Foundation. Support: Felbermayr, Johann Kattus, Weinquartier Wien. Production: Trevision. Digital Imaging: Albert Winkler. Management: Kaspar Mühlemann Hartl.
