I think somehow the idea of using other sources, other people's work to use them as a catalyst in order to talk about the understructure of art, is not directly talking about originality, or the concern to be seen that way. That is not how it functions, and that might be one of the problems why there's such trouble in getting away from the referenced copy. (Elaine Sturtevant)
